Evesham sits on a loop in the River Avon, among rich, fertile lands of the Vale of Evesham, often known as, the fruit basket of England. The town centre is dominated by Abbot Lichfields 110ft Bell Tower, the only remains of the Abbey Church, which was dismantled and sold for building stone after the dissolution of the monasteries.

Next to the Bell Tower are the 12th century All Saints Church and the 16th century Church of St. Lawrence and leading into the Abbey precincts is Abbot Reginalds Gateway, which dates from the 12th century.

Lower river Avon is a lovely place to take a stroll along the riverside footpath, visitors can eat and drink in the riverside pubs or restaurants and, in when summertime comes, take one of the many boat trips that leaves from Abbey Park Quay.
