Symonds Yat is an impressive outcrop overlooking a glorious sweeping bend of the Wye River. Popular with birdwatchers, which come to spy the Peregrine Falcons that nest here, it is also one of the area's most well known views and adorns postcards.
The pretty village of Symonds Yat East lies a couple of miles away and is a good place for a pint, cuppa or bite to eat; it even has a few hotels if you fancy spending a night or two by the river. You can also rent canoes or take a cruise up river if you're not in the mood for one of the walking trails nearby. For the more adventurous the spot is also well known for it’s climbing.
Sunny Sundays and bank holidays Symonds Yat is crammed with visitors, but it is well worth a visit when it's quieter.
