Droitwich Spa is a small town located in northern Worcestershire, on the banks of the River Salwarpe and is rich in Roman history.
The area is renowned for its huge deposits of salt, with salt being mined since ancient times. The salt content in the Droitwich brine is ten times stronger than sea water and only rivalled by the Dead Sea.
There is a train station just out of town, with trains running to Birmingham, Worcester, Kidderminster and Stourbridge. Drioitwich Spa has a shopping precinct, local Famers Markets and several beautiful old cathedrals worth visiting.
