Redcar has stretches of flat sandy beaches, plenty of shops and is also the home of the oldest surviving lifeboat in the world, which you can see at the Zetland Lifeboat Museum. There are plenty of donkeys trawling up and down the sand and for rather faster moving four legged displays go to Redcar Races.
Redcar is a popular diving spot with the right weather conditions, and it also attracts wind surfing and para-gliding enthusiasts along Coatham beach. The sea front is the perfect place for a leisurely walk with ice cream or some freshly made fish and chips.
