Ripley

The beautifully preserved village of Ripley lies to the northwest of Harrogate and falls entirely within the estate of Ripley Castle, seat of the Ingilby family for almost 700 years.

Totally unspoilt, the village and castle sit on the banks of the Nidd and are well worth a day of anyone’s time, there is an extremely welcoming inn, the Boar’s Head, where you can revive before your onward journey.
