Wetherby is an attractive market town that is known for its floral displays and won the coveted best town category in the 1998 Britain in Bloom competition.
Chartered in the 13th century and a popular staging post on the route between London and Edinburgh, it is an historic place with an abundance of character. Wetherby has one of the north’s top racecourses, which is the one in Yorkshire to hold ‘jump’ races.
The Wetherby Festival is on every year it is a festival put on to promote the arts in Wetherby by providing a platform for local groups to perform and to bring in other performers and art forms.
