The Isle of Man lies in the Irish Sea and on a clear day you can see England, Scotland and Wales, which are all roughly equidistant from the island. It is renowned for the TT Grand Prix and tailless Manx cat, which is a shame because it should be known for its natural beauty and pleasant climate it is another lucky beneficiary of the Gulf Streams temperate weather systems.

In the centre of the island is the Snaefell, at 2034ft the highest peak, while the coastline is edged with cliffs.

The British Sovereign appoints a Lieutenant Governor to the island but it elects its own parliament, who decide on matters of policy and taxation, which is why the Isle of Man is popular with UK citizens who are anxious to minimise their tax liability.
