Ramsey is the island’s second largest town and in 1313 Robert the Bruce landed here and seized the Isle of Man for the Scots.
Mooragh Park is a great spot where 40 acres of parkland surround a large palm fringed lake, which creates the sense that you are several hundred miles further south. The Curraghs Wildlife Park offers a range of attractions from nature trails to a massive variety of animals from all over the world. The animal's habitat mirror their natural surroundings as much as possible and conservation is a priority.
Just south of Ramsey on the road back to Douglas is Laxey, a very quaint tidal harbour town, which boasts the world’s largest water-wheel, the Lady Isabella.
