Ballycastle is a small, pretty seaside town that marks the end of the Causeway Coast. Although there is not much to do in the town itself, except relax, sample the local culinary delights and people watch. On the last Monday and Tuesday of August the Ould Lammas Fair is held in Ballycastle, where you can sample local toffee and seaweed dishes (not together!).
Ballycastle is a good place to use as a base for exploring the exciting Giant’s Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Bridge and the nearby castles and scenery.
The Auld Lammas Fair is an annual sheep, pony and livestock sale where market stands line the pavements. Local pubs put on live traditional music and traditional food is served.
