The Ard Peninsula’s most picturesque town, Portaferry sits near the end of the Ards Peninsula on the stretch of water known as The Narrows; the narrow strip of Strangford Lough that separates Portaferry from Strangford.
A definite hit with outdoor fans, Portaferry has plenty to keep you entertained; coastal walks atop cliffs with seals for company, fishing and bird watching trips and hilltop views.
The Explorius is Northern Ireland's only public aquarium and seal sanctuary, the open tanks allow you to touch and hold different sea life. It is also a seal rehabilitation centre where you can be taken through the seal's journey back to health.
