Named after St Patrick, Downpatrick is the administrative centre of County Down. There are many cultural attractions in Downpatrick and lots more in the surrounding area.
This is THE place to be every year on 17th March joining the crowds, watching the parades, partying and drinking Guinness. St Patrick was buried in the Cathedral and there is a St Patrick centre in town where you can learn all there is to know about Ireland’s most famous inhabitant.
