Crail, with its pretty harbour, is probably the most photogenic of the East Neuk villages. Consequently however you can find it a little crowded in peak seasons with everybody jostling for that perfect shot.
But, if you can imagine it without the baseball caps and camera flashes, Crail pretty much carries on just as it has for years - a sleepy fishing village with cobbled streets and stone cottages.
Keep an eye out for the little hut in the harbour where you can buy fresh cooked lobster and crab.
