East Neuk refers to the thumb of land stretching south from St Andrews around to Largo Bay. Probably the prettiest part of Fife, the coast is dotted with small towns and tiny traditional fishing villages and inland farms.
As you'd expect in the home of golf, there are numerous golf courses, but if you've had enough of nine irons and plus fours, there is some excellent walking, particularly along the coast. If you need to blow the cobwebs out, try The Ness of Fife.
If time allows, try one of the excellent local restaurants - whether fish from the sea or fat from the land, there are some wonderful culinary treats in the villages of East Neuk - the Cellar in Anstruther and Seafood Restaurant in St Monans are both highly respected as well as Prince William's favourite chippy, the Anstruther Fish Bar.
