The wild and rugged Hebrides lie off the West coast of Scotland and extend from Butt of Lewis to Barra Head. Lewis is the largest and most heavily populated island with Stornoway being the main port and social centre. Harris is another popular island, and the relatively sheltered beaches of the west coast are quite spectacular: mile upon mile golden sands framed by the mountains in the backdrop. This really is a beautiful and remote environment, best suited to people who have a love of the outdoor life and nature.
