The ancient crofting village Acharacle is surrounded by sheltered, undulating hills against the beautiful Loch Shiel.
Acharacle doesn't have the same coastal weather ferocity found in some neighbouring villages. It is an attractive and calm place worth visiting while on route to the extraordinary site of Castle Tioram.
The castle protrudes from a rocky promontory in the middle of the calm Loch Moidart and is only reached by a sandy causeway.
