Mallaig

Mallaig is a lovely little town that almost never happened, the road to the isles terminated at Arisaig, there were only a couple of cottages built here, but the coming of the railway in 1901 lead to the growth of the town.

The huge influx of visitors passing through the port in Mallaig, are usually on route to Skye and the small Isles. This has resulted in a busy, cluttered and noisy environment.

The harbour is full of action and worth a look to see the bustling fishing industry doing it thing on the quays every morning. This has also resulted in a fabulous selection of the freshest, most tasty fish and chips around!
