Dunnet Haed

Dunnet Head is a peninsula that includes the most northerly point of the mainland of Great Britain. The point lies in Caithness on the north coast of Scotland. On a clear day it commands some of the most extensive views you are likely to find anywhere in northern Scotland.

The point, known also as Easter Head is about eleven miles west/northwest of John o' Groats and about twelve miles from Duncansby Head. Dunnet Head can be seen also as the western limit of the Pentland Firth on the firth's southern or Caithness side.

A lighthouse stands on the 90 metre cliff top, which is 105 metres tall and was built in 1831 by Robert Stevenson. Dunnet Head has puffins, seals, lochs, great views, walking tours, and offers superb fishing.
