This is as isolated as it gets in Orkney. North Ronaldsay cops the worst of the winds, is battered by ferocious ocean, engulfed by the sky yet people still live and love it here!
The major points of interest on North Ronaldsay is the permanent Bird Observatory, a great vantage point to see some of the worlds rare migrants as they stop on the island.
The sheep farming here is quite famous. Due to a predominantly seaweed based diet, the prized wool and meat from these tough, goat like sheep is like no other.
