Edinburgh's New Town, despite being over two hundred years old, is still significantly more modern than the Old Town.
The New Town is where you will find areas such as George Street and Princes Street shopping areas, a must for all you shopaholics. It also boasts the Royal Academy and National Gallery of Scotland, exhibiting international art (with an emphasis on Scottish) and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art with an impressive collection of art dating from 20th century to date.
Edinburgh's Royal Botanic Garden is also situated here, and a guided tour is recommended of this spectacular seventy-acre attraction. While you’re in the New town, and its wildlife your interested in then why not stop by Edinburgh Zoo and see the famous spectacle of the daily penguin parade, a great day for the kids.
