Oban is a peaceful town next to the waterfront with fantastic views. In the summertime the town gets quite hectic and for its main trade relies on its importance as a major connection point with the inner and Outer Hebrides.
McCaig's Tower, or better known as McCaig's Folly sits on top of the hill above the town. It is a Victorian colosseum recreation and is the main attraction in Oban.
If your feeling energetic you can start the walk to St Andrews from here, if not, walk around the waterfront and admire the boats, Oban retains a large fishing fleet.
