Haywards Heath is a town on the London to Brighton railway line, which grew out of the neighbouring villages of Cuckfield and Linfields refusal to accommodate the line, or a station. Nowadays it is the administrative centre for mid-Sussex and although it doesnt boast any real attractions, the town is set among lovely countryside.
To the east is Ashdown Forest, where you will find lovely unspoilt villages like Cuckfield - you see, it was not without good reason that they eschewed the railway line. The surrounding area is the biggest lure for the tourist and the uber-cool Brighton is a short train ride away.
