Cerne Abbas is situated to the north of Dorchester, set in a valley, which is cut by the River Cerne. It is surrounded by the lovely West Dorset rolling hills where there are a great range of footpaths and bridalways so is perfect for picturesque walks.
Despite the beautiful medieval village, is best known as the site of Britain’s largest hill figure. The 180 ft form of a lusty, naked giant has been carved into the limestone hill and has become something of a hot-spot for people hoping to enhance their fertility.
Cerne Abbas is home to a number of cosy pubs and tearooms so after a long day you can relax and have a pint with the locals or a lovely cup of tea in a friendly tearoom.
