Whitstable is a small harbour town that has been renowned for its oysters, known locally as, 'Royal Whitstable Natives' for nearly two thousand years. The town has some lovely restaurants on the harbour which all serve beautifully cooked fresh fish.
The Whitstable Museum & Art Gallery is a fascinating source of information on the town and its heritage and in 2001 was the first British museum to be honoured with the Nautiek Award for services to diving history.
