Yarmouth is found on the western tip of the Island and is a perfect destination to begin or depart your journey. The town is wonderfully convenient for day-trippers as car ferries link Yarmouth to the mainland.
Most visitors are drawn to the area for the brilliant multichrome cliffs that cascade into the blue waters of Alum Bay. This is one of the most spectacular views on the Isle of Wight. If you are not sensitive to heights, here you can ride the famous chair lift up and down the great cliffs.
Arguably the second biggest draw card to this area would be the three chalk stacks, known as The Needles. These three towering rocks look even better than the postcard! The story goes that there used to be another rock or 37ft spire that really resembles a needle before it collaposed into the ocean, hence granting its name The Needles.
