Towyn is located on the north Wales Coast between Rhyl and Abergele. The centre of Towyn is small with a selection of shops and market stalls mainly targeting the tourist. The many caravan sites here make it a holiday haven for many, who come to this seaside resort year after year.
The main beach is separated from the resort by the sea defence, made famous for its breaching in 1990. This caused extensive flooding of Towyn and its surrounds, causing the emergency services to evacuate to whole resort. Extensive work was carried out to the defence system and Towyn opened to the many tourists the following year.
The Beach here runs from Rhyl right through to Llanddulas, allowing plenty of space for all who visit. This beach provides a great place to take a leisurely stroll too. Other attractions include knightlys Fun Fair and Tir Prince where there is a horse race track, fun fair and a large market each weekend.
