In North Dyfed the land rises from St. David's as it moves east and reaches a peak of 1760ft in what are known as the Preseli Hills (sometimes spelt Prescelly). The range is intersected by deep river valleys and the whole area is rich in ancient sites and relics.
The stones of Stonehenge are believed to have come from this area and to this day historians still marvel at how Bronze Age Britons managed to transport the huge dolerite stones the 240 miles to Salisbury Plain.
The hills are home to an array of wildlife and beautiful wild flowers, which are enhanced by the perfect mild climate.
