Take an enjoyable boat trip from Tenby Harbour to the beautiful Caldey Island, which is now owned by monks of the Cistercian Order. Since the Stone Age Caldey has been inhabited, and has been home to various orders of monks since Celtic times.
The picturesque monastery overlooks the cottages of the islanders and the village green. Perfume, chocolate and shortbread are all made on the island, and are available to buy in the village. Take a look in the Village Post Office, which is also a museum of Caldey's history. For something special why not send a postcard from the island with the Caldey Island hand stamp on.
A scenic walk up to the Lighthouse opens up spectacular panoramic views of the Pembrokeshire Coast, Tenby and the Preseli Hills, the Gower Peninsula and Lundy Island. Explore the Old Prioy, which is steeped in history or the medieval churches of St David and St Illtud. If you prefer to relax then take a stroll along the sandy beach at Priory Bay.
