Penally is practically on the outskirts of Tenby, just a mile away. A quiet village it has been blessed with a vast expanse of wonderful sandy beach which is a perfect place to head on a hot summer's day (yes they have been known to happen from time to time in Wales!).
Above the beach the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path makes its way past Giltar Point to the excellent, if privately owned, beach at Lydstep Haven. For a small fee you can get access however and it can often be quieter than the main beaches in Tenby. If you keep going for another mile you will reach a small cove with the unliley name of Skrinkle Haven where camping is permitted.
