Portishead is north of Clevedon and is a small port cum resort near the mouth of the Avon. It is quaint and pretty in parts as several original buildings survive around the church and the manor house.
Lake Grounds are a wonderful place to relax; it is built around an artificial lake and runs along the esplanade. There is a children’s play area and in the summer rowing boats are up for hire.
Battery Point offers fantastic views of the Bristol Channel; it is the northernmost tip of Portishead and in WWII a battery of guns were mounted on aprons, which you can still see today.
