St Mawes is an attractive town, perched on a limb of land at the end of Carrick Roads. This is a quiet and remote town but is accessible by ferry from Falmouth.
It boasts a pretty walled seafront and generous gardens. Towards the end of the seafront is the tourist lure of the town, St Mawes Castle. The well-preserved castle is open to tour and the dungeons and gun installations have some interesting exhibitions.
