Lynton is often referred to as the Gateway to Exmoor. Perched high over a stunning gorge with spectacular views of the ocean, Lynton has been a tourist destination since Victorian times.

In its day, (1800's) Lynton was best known as the bohemian location of the outlaw clans of R.D Blackmore's publication of Lorna Doone. The rugged and remote beauty of the landscape here will allow the imaginations to run wild.

Curious tourist began to flock to the area and the trend has carried through to the present day!
