Ilfacombe

Being North Devon's largest seaside resort, Ilfracombe is characterised by narrow streets that wind down steep hills to a beautiful little harbour.

There are a number of great beaches nearby that suit surfers, bathers, water gazers and tropical shell fossickers.

The romantic Lantern Hill burns a light from the medieval chapel of St. Nicholas (patron saint of sailors) to guide the boats safely into harbour.
