The West Country tourism industry seems to have passed this locality by and sheep & cattle farming are the economy’s mainstay. There is an extremely attractive 15th century church with a lime grove at South Molton and Crediton is an important centre of early Christianity and is widely held to be to be the birthplace of St. Boniface.
