Frome is a lovely, quaint old market town. It is certainly not “bright lights, big city” but does have some lovely old buildings like the 18th century almshouses and is a lovely example of a traditional West Country town thriving on the local industries of cloth and agriculture.
St Michael and All Angels Church, is home to a great treasure it's 'Font' it has been dated about 1170, and is the church’s greatest monument and attracts visitors from all around the world it is said to be one of the finest examples of Romanesque sculpture in Great Britain.
Frome is the ideal place to base yourself if you're visiting the surrounding towns of Bath, Wells, Glastonbury, Longleat, Stonehenge, or Stourhead. It is a quiet place where you can unwind and appreciate the historic architecture.
