Okehampton is the main centre of northern Dartmoor National Park.

Okehampton is a perfect base for walkers. However if you want to escape the wild terrain for a day or two, visitors will find some very fine examples of old buildings in this prosperous little market town.

Okehampton's roots lay in the medieval wool trade, leaving the town with a fairly affluent atmosphere.
