New York City

New York City, NYC or The Big Apple as it is otherwise known, is located on the Atlantic Coast, giving it a great natural harbour setting. It is said to be the world’s largest city.

NYC is a thriving international global centre, leading the way in finance, politics, fashion and culture. With as many as 800 languages spoken in the city, it is the most linguistically diverse city in the entire world.

Getting around the city is easy. The subway is by far the best way, the fares are cheap, regardless of how far you are travelling, and crime is generally a thing of the past. Subway travel runs 24 hours a day and in most instances is completely safe.

Being such a huge city, there are hundreds of attractions. Some of the best known would have to be Statue of Liberty, Top of the Rock Observation, Ellis Island, Empire State Building, American Museum of Natural History, Wall Street and the Brooklyn Bridge which offers stunning views of both the Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines.

New York City is a thriving centre for the arts, with some of the finest art museums in the country. Manhattan has the most impressive, Brooklyn also has the city’s second largest museum.
