Singapore After Hours
Rating:

As the sun fades, Singapore transforms from an efficient business hub into a buzzing network of bars, restaurants and nightclubs. It's not quite a city that never sleeps, but there are more than enough places to pique your interest well into the night.

Where to eat –

2am Dessert Bar:

The name says it all really. If you're craving something sweet, they offer tasty treats such as Chilli Chocolate and Homemade Peanut Butter; Popcorn Parfait; Chocolate Planet; and the ridiculously decadent Rocher Muscovado. Bring plenty of change; dining at 2am isn't cheap.

No. 5 Emerald Hill:

Surrounded by traditional Peranakan shophouses, this bar is bursting with charm and personality. Nostalgic black and white photographs adorn the walls, with peeling paintwork, vivid red lanterns and exposed timber adding to the historic atmosphere. Open til 2 or 3 am.

Maxwell Road Food Centre:

Located on the edge of Chinatown, this is the place to go when you need a hearty meal. Open from 8am-10pm, the hawker centre boasts over 100 food stalls ranging from Tian Tian Chicken Rice to char kway teow from the Marina South Delicious Food stall.

Where to drink

1 Altitude
Recently voted as the Best Nightspot Experience in Singapore, 1 Altitude Bar is an al fresco bar located on level 63 of the 282m One Raffles Place Building. If you’re only in Singapore for a short trip, this is the place to come. The bar boasts a fantastic wine and cocktail list, regular DJs and live music, and views that will make your heart skip a beat. A definite must see.

City Space Bar

For those who appreciate a little luxury in the evenings, you can't go past City Space. The bar features a premium range of spirits, fine wines and champagne, along with an exceptional cocktail list. The best part though, watching the city lights come on with the setting up.

Cafe del Mar

A branch of the legendary Ibiza beach bar, Cafe Del Mar will sweep you off your feet with its inimitable mix of ambient chill-out beats, decadent cocktails and gourmet tapas. Located on Siloso Beach at Sentosa Island, the bar is open til the wee hours of the morning on Friday and Saturday.

Things to do

Mustafa Centre

Can't sleep? Why not use the night to get a little more shopping in? Mustafa is the only 24hr shopping centre in Singapore. Located in Little India, it sells just about everything you'll ever need - jewellery, electronics, clothing, sports gear and more.

Zouk

A hotspot for the jet-set glitterati, attracting big names such as David Beckham, Jamiroquai and Linkin Park, Zouk is one venue with four distinct club experiences. The main Zouk club regularly hosts international DJs, Phuture is hop-hop/drum n bass focused, Velvet Underground is like an intimate underground lounge bar, and the Wine Bar is a fantastic place to chill out.
