Just five kilometres east of Waroona is the reservoir for the irrigation water from the Drakesbrook Weir, containing some 200 hectares of water. It is used extensively for recreation.
Power boating is permitted and the area is very popular for water ski activities. Fishing is also a major attraction with Marron, Trout and Perch abounding.
During late Winter the Waroona Dam usually overflows and creates an inspiring sight as the foaming water rushes down the spillway. At other times the flow from the outlet meanders down to the Drakesbrook Weir through gorges.
Facilities include picnic sites, BBQ area, toilets, and a carpark.
