Fraser Island lies at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef, just a 35-minute boat ride from Hervey Bay and a 45-minute flight or a three and a half hour drive from the Queensland capital of Brisbane.

By Air: Sunshine Express has several daily services from Brisbane to Hervey Bay connecting with interstate flights. Air Fraser charter services from Maroochydore Airport to Hervey Bay and Fraser Island.

By Bus: Greyhound-Pioneer, Suncoast Pacific and McCafferty's coaches have daily services from Brisbane.

By Train: Tilt Train from Brisbane to Maryborough has a train link bus to Hervey Bay.

By Car: Follow the Bruce Highway north of Brisbane until you come to Maryborough. Then take the Maryborough Hervey Bay Road to Harvey Bay. There are several Barges that operate from various places in and around Hervey Bay.
