The Fraser Coast is the gateway to World Heritage Listed Fraser Island, and the southern entry to the World Heritage listed Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef. The South Burnett is an exceptional Wine and Food region that features some of Queensland's most awarded wineries, as well as the spectacular Bunya Mountains.

Your journey starts along the Bruce Highway, as you head on up to the historical city of Maryborough, once the main immigration port for Queensland, this historical city has a well preserved Port Precinct, spend some time to get to know the history of this great state.

Hervey Bay boasts over 40 kilometres of pristine beaches, and its vast, sheltered bay is a haven for water activities and fishing. It is also becoming a cosmopolitan city, with al-fresco cafes and restaurants lining the Esplanade, and a range of world class accommodation, from five star hotels and luxury apartments to motels, hostels and cabins. Try your hand at sky diving over Fraser Island, or kite boarding along the long sandy beaches of Hervey Bay! From late July to early November, the giant yet gentle humpback whales visit the protected waters off Hervey Bay for a rest and play, offering visitors an up close and personal encounter with these magnificent mammals aboard sleek, modern whale watching vessels.

Fraser Island is the world's largest sand Island, a must see destination, and just a short 45-60 minute cruise away from Hervey Bay. This world class island boasts some of the world's rarest ecosystems, such as sand based rainforests, and crystal clear lakes nestled between towering rainforests and sand dunes.
