The Sands is steeped in history having been one of the areas longest standing venues. In recent times we went through a complete renovation with the upstairs accommodation being converted into a state-of-the-art budget travelers hostel with all the modern facilities expected by todays traveller

The Sands Hostel facilities and features include, king size single bunk beds with full linen provided in either mixed dorm rooms or female only available. All rooms are air conditioned with secure electronic card access. Classic Queenslander balcony surround the building with day beds over looking Kirra Point. Cook in our modern communal kitchen and enjoy large clean bathrooms and laundry. Email on our Global Gossip Internet bench with wireless access. All rooms have large backpack lockers with a built in power point for you to charge your iPod, camera or phone. Downstairs we have backpackers discount menu in the Kirrabelle Restaurant
