The Wharf

One of Cooktown's simple pleasures can be found fishing with the locals at the Wharf.

Large Spanish Mackeral, Barramundi, Queenfish, Trevally and Mangrove Jack can be caught just by walking onto the public wharf and throwing in a line.

If you don't feel like hiring a boat, you have an excellent chance of making a major catch whilst still being within walking distance of your accommodation.
