The Lagoon is a beautiful expanse of calm turquoise water enclosed by a 6km long coral reef on the western side of the island.

It is a haven for snorklers with coral patches just metres from the shoreline in some places.

A few boats are anchored here and there's always a glass-bottom boat exploring the brilliant coral or circling Blackburn Island at the outer reef.

Lagoon Beach is a golden sand arc stretching about 3 km from the jetty to the rolling greens of the island's golf club.
