298 hectares of former arable land has been converted to reedbeds and grazing marsh with residual poplar woods. Providing habitat for marsh harriers, bearded tits, and golden orioles.

The park is open all year and offers nature trails, toilets, picnic benches and a viewpoint shelter.

The visitor centre is open 7 days a week March - Oct and winter opening times vary.
