The Moors Centre is our flagship visitor centre, set in an idyllic spot on the banks of the River Esk. From the doorstep, you can see pretty much everything that makes the North York Moors National Park so special: moorland, woodland, farmland, miles of hedges and drystone walls, historic buildings - all basking in glorious peace and quiet. The Centre is an all weather attraction with something for everyone including:

Arts and Crafts Gallery with regular exhibitions; Children's Indoor Climbing Wall; Riverside and Woodland Trails; Outdoor Play Area; Interactive exhibition; Indoor Puzzles and Games; Tearooms; Stunning Audio Visual; Outdoor Activities; Giant Willow Otter sculptures; Bird Hide; Gift Shop; Information Centre

Admission to the Centre and all the above attractions is absolutely FREE! There is plenty of pay and display parking or why not give the car a break and hop on board a Moorsbus?

Getting There
The Moors Centre is in the north of the National Park, less than a mile from village of Danby in the Esk Valley (OS Grid Reference: NZ 717 084). In the summer months it's easy to get to The Moors Centre on either the Moorsbus Network or the Esk Valley Railway. Alternatively, you can leave your car in the Centre's car park and use the bus or the train to explore the surrounding area.
Opening Times
In 2008, the Centre will be open daily from 9 February. In February, March, November and December the Centre is open between 10.30am and 3.30pm From April through to October, its opening hours are 10am to 5pm. Entry to the Centre is free of charge.
