Doncaster, Sheffield, Rotherham and the area around the rivers Don and Rother have an excellent transport infrastructure, mainly because of its industrial heritage. There are excellent roads and motorways, railway lines, air travel options and even an inland port at Goole earmarked for a super ferry development.
Fly direct to the regional airport at Sheffield situated within the Rother and Don Valleys. Nearby Leeds Bradford and Birmingham International Airports offer a wide choice of transatlantic, long haul flights and further scheduled, charter and budget flights.
The M1 motorway runs north-south near Sheffield and the M62 east-west close to Doncaster.
Intercity trains run from Doncaster and Sheffield to London and the rest of the UK. For ferries to and from Europe, the port at Hull on the east coast, about 70 miles east of Sheffield is easy to reach by train, coach or car.
