New Ing Lodge

Built in 1708 New Ing Farm was for a while also a coaching inn, observant visitors will notice the single window high up on each of the gable ends. These are unusual and it was from these windows that the servant girls would look out for the next coach and warn the landlord so that he could prepare to greet the new arrivals.

The farm is easily accessible to the East Lakes the Eden Valley, Hawes Water, Ullswater, High Street, Askham Fell, as well as the less-visited Howgill fells and the west Pennines. The Wainwright Coast to Coast walk passes directly past the Lodge.

New Ing Farm offer a range of activities from the Lodge. They have mountain bikes for hire (with a special rate for residents), and an orienteering course outside the back door. They also provide an excellent breakfast and do evening meals and packed lunches by request.
