Lincolnshire has excellent road links to all of the UK via the A1 dual carriageway. This main arterial road runs north - south, close to Grantham, Peterborough and Lincoln, giving access to the M1, M62 and all the UK motorway network. The M180 links Grimsby and the coast to the A1.
Away from the main dual carriageways the area is served by the local road network. Away from the coast the roads may seem almost deserted, but if driving to the seaside resorts like Skegness and Cleethorpes, set off early as heavy traffic causes frequent traffic jams in the most popular destinations.
