Although there are no ports in the Suffolk & South Norfolk region itself, the Port of Harwich is little more than an hours drive from Bury St Edmunds.

Harwich International Ferry Port

Located at the eastern tip of Essex, approximately 50 miles from Bury St Edmunds via the A134, A14, A137, B1352 and A120. Being easily accessible by major road and rail links, this port offers passenger and freight routes between Suffolk & South Norfolk region and numerous European destinations throughout the year.

The port offers excellent facilities, including adequate car parking and direct routes to the vessels from the passenger terminal. Major ferry companies operate out of this port, offering twice daily crossings into the Hook of Holland as well as several crossings a week into Cuxhaven and Hamburg in Germany, Gothenberg in Sweden & Esbjerg in Denmark.
