The Bristol region is easily accessible for travel by road, rail, air or sea from Europe and the UK.

Flights to Bristol Airport can be made from many UK and European airports. There are no flights from the major UK International airports, such as London or Manchester, but flights are available from many of the European gateway airports such as Dublin or Amsterdam.

To visit Bristol by sea, the port at Poole is approximately 70 miles from Bristol and has ferry crossings to Cherbourg in France and the Channel Isles. The port at Plymouth is around 80 miles away with crossings to Roscoff, France and also Santander in Spain (summer only).

Bristol Temple Meads Train Station is the main rail station within the region, offering direct services to most of the UK's major rail interchanges. Main lines travel through to Penzance in Cornwall, passing through Weston Super Mare, as well as along the south coast to Brighton via Bath.

To drive to Bristol, the M32 leaves the M4 at junction 3, while Bristol International Airport lies to the south-west of the city via the A38. Close to the south -ast of Bristol is the historical city of Bath, which can be reached along the A36 and A4. The M5 travels south along the Severnmouth on the Somerset west coast passing the towns of Avonmouth, Portishead, Clevedon and Weston-Super-Mare.
